so I said I would run a half marathon.  That's a little over 13 miles. I honestly didn't think I would hold to it so I went ahead and paid for it months in advance. It was expensive, around 100 bucks, so I figured that would be an incentive for me NOT to waste my money. It worked!

I trained the best I could with a toddler and a husband who works late late hours. As in wasn't home in time for me to run before dark given that it was winter and got dark early. So I trained pushing Hayzen. On the HUGE HILLS in my neighborhood. It was rough, not gonna lie I also worked out with my trainer and did my long runs on the weekends when B was home. I never ran over 8 miles in training, and missed lots of runs on the training schedule due to getting sick, weather, etc. So I didn't have real high hopes for myself on race day. I was super nervous because I am kind of competitive and didn't want to suck to be honest.

So race day comes and it's freezing. Like 30 degrees. I was so happy. I do SOO much better in cold weather. I basically did it alone. My friends Will and Robbie ran it too, but I sent them ahead since I didn't know if I could hold my pace the whole race.

The marathon was a success. SOOO much fun. I had no trouble at all. I finished in 2:14 and that was with a stop at the porta potty, a stop to take off my gloves, hat,and coat when the sun came out, and a stop at the first aid tent at mile 11 because my blisters popped and I needed band aids! So I was happy with myself and can't wait to do it again! Amidst all of this running, Hayzen has become obsessed with the jogging stroller. After school he knows that I go change and then we go run. So he gets his glasses and cup and snack and heads straight for the stroller!! He lives for it which makes me happy :)
