well I have been EAGERLY anticipating this day. I just KNEW that at six months things would get easier. And for the most part I was right! Slayde's colic is long gone. It slooowly improved day by day until it all but disappeared. For Labor Day we spent time with my sister and then didn't see her again until TX/OU weekend. She commented that Slayde was a completely different baby. In the one month since she had last seen him she said he had changed from Angry At Life to Happy Smiley Baby. It was so nice to see that the improvements weren't in my head!
Sleep remained a struggle until about a month ago. I gave in and read Happy Sleep Habits Happy Child after several failed attempts at cry it out. It worked!! He now sleeps 8-10 hour stretches. He is still breastfed, and absolutely will NOT take a bottle :( We have started some fruits and veggies and also some Baby Led Weaning. Somedays he eagerly eats the food. Other days, not so much! We went to the doctor today. He was 16.13 lbs (33%) and 28 inches (off the chart). He wears size 2 diapers during the day and size 3 at night. He smiles, scoots, pivots, rolls, and kind of sits up. He also wants to touch everything which I am pretty sure is a sign that he's going to be into EVERYTHING...
I absolutely adore my little guy. I kiss on him all day and want to eat him up. Now I'm ready to freeze time!!!!
