I realized that I was WAY behind in my posts and didn't know where to start, so I went through my pictures. They usually do a pretty good job of reminding me what I have been doing. The biggest thing to happen lately was the passing of my dad's mom, Grandma Jackie. She was unique. She was literally the greatest human I ever knew. If Slayde had been a girl, he would have been named after her. She was witty, fun, funny, open minded, never knew a stranger, and basically perfect. But she lost her battle with breast cancer for the second time last week. We spent many a nights at her house in las colinas all summer as she became house bound, then bed ridden. In the last two weeks she just went downhill super fast, and died among friends and family at her home. It's so hard. It's just such a loss of a great person. But I'm trying to trek on and remember she's in a better place.
Another development as of late is that I got a job! I am working part time at the boys preschool in the 3/4 year old room and I love it!! I love the teachers, the Christian environment, and being back in the classroom without having to deal with public school crud, testing, and working full time. So that's been nice!
My kids are uber challenging right now. Mostly it's Hayzen. He is really struggling with his eating and control/OCD issues. It's hard. But he has an appointment in 2 weeks at the child study center of fort worth and they think they can help! Woohooo! Because at this rate he's turning mommy into a wino and that's just not good for the waistline...
Slaydes so fun. He is literally a little light in my life. He's a pain. He's dramatic. He screams a lot. But he is so damn funny. He is for sure going to be the class clown. And I'm going to have to bite my lip a lot in order to avoid laughing at him because, well, he's funny. And kind. And NOT potty trained. And a terrible sleeper still. But... he's really cute!
I have made some wonderful friends in my neighbors, Brea, Tommy and Luke. They live behind us, have a son in Hayzen's class, and we just have a blast together. In August we took a trip to Galveston together and even amongst the sea weed ridden, nasty Galveston beaches, we seriously had the best time ever. We laughed, we drank, we cooked, we built sand castles, we rode around in a Razor blaring 90's hip hop Pandora, we crab hunted, we watched the VMA's and gasped at Miley together. It was easy. It was cheap. It was bliss.
For now, life is chaotic. I wish it would slow down. We go NON STOP. But for the most part, it's fun :)
