Fire Ant Attack

So my sweet Slayde was playing in the sandbox with Hayzen and I when I hear "There's an ant on Slayde." I look down, flick a tiny ant off and go back to playing. Within THIRTY seconds Slaydes arm has swelled up ten times it's normal size, and huge white bumps are appearing. One after another. I pick him up, run in the house, and shove some benadryl down his throat. Then I leave a message with my pedi, and sprint across the street to show my neighbor. I needed someone to calm me down. We counted 32 bites. The kid never cried once. Not a squeal. Not a tear... Long story short, the dr had us come in to warn us about the dangers of impetigo, how to clean with hibiclens, and why benadryl needs to be given every six hours without fail. (think itching, open sore on a hand, crawling baby...) So throughout all of this, he still has not fussed, has slept GREAT thanks to the benadryl, and mommy had to cover his hand with a sock to resist the urge to pop the pustules. And honestly.... the sight of his hand turned my stomach!! This child... I have no words...
